Makeup Tip 5 - White Brow Highlight - Yay or Nay? | Makeup Beauty Blog

So today I have yet another makeup tip for you all. Often here in India I have seen a lot of girls wear eyeshadows. But one thing I have noticed quite often among girls here and also among people who do makeup (professionally!!) for others is that, they tend to put a WHITE MATTE eyeshadow under their brows. The question here is, does it look nice or somewhat patchy??
The answer is, YES it does look very very patchy, especially if you have warm undertones in your skin. If you have a very pale skin tone, using a white matte shade under your brows would not be a problem. However, if you have yellow in your skin tone, putting a white matte eyeshadow under your brows can look very very odd. So, the solution???
There are three options you can use under your brows for highlighting. You can choose either based on the look you are going for.
1) Use a matte shade very close to your natural skintone.
OR
2) Use a nice highlighter which is subtle and not too shimmery.
OR
3) Use an eyeshadow that is not too frosty or glittery. Shades like champagne or something with a hint of gold or a bit of slight pink or bronze undertone can look good.
I have seen so, so, so many girls, especially here in India that do wear a matte white eyeshadow under their brows. Don't worry, I used to think the same many many years back (say 10-12 yrs) before studying more about makeup. Use this tip and apply similar shades as I have recommended. This can make your eyeshadow look more even and pretty. :) If you wish to use a cool tone under your brows, use something with a bit of gold/bronze/pink undertone. This would avoid the patchiness and would rather do the intended purpose of highlighting.
