Knock, Knock! Take a Sneak Peak into my Makeup Bag Favourites November 2016 | The Face Palette Makeu
Hello my lovelies,
I cannot even begin to explain to you how fast the month of November flew for me. It was both a wonderful month and at the same time, very stressful and hurting as well. I cannot even begin to tell you how it was a total roller-coaster ride for me. Firstly, let me begin what was the good thing that happened to me in November. I WENT TO THE UK! YEEEEESSSSS!!! Finally, after a gap of nearly 3 years, I got a chance to revisit UK, visit my friends.. meet a lot of lovely new people, enjoy the cold weather, see my university, ride the same buses, eat the same local food and have my favourite ciders.. It was just surreal for me to rekindle all those memories, this time, with my husband by my side. We literally had a ball of a time as this trip was special to celebrate our 2nd Wedding Anniversary that took place on the 9th November. I am attaching 2 pics here for you guys from the trip.
Truly feeling blessed to rekindle memories and see my friends again!!
Now for the sad part, my mother was not keeping well the entire month. She was initially unwell before we left to the UK but I thought she was getting better before starting the trip. When we reached back to India, we came to know that she was keeping really unwell which literally drained me emotionally. I cannot see a scratch on her.. it ruins me and seeing her unwell literally made me really sad. The good thing is she has recovered well and is doing really fine now.
Enough with all the rambling as I always do. Let us get to my interesting segment of this month which is the 'Knock, Knock! Take a Sneak Peak into my Makeup Bag Favourites' segment.
Let me take you on a Sneak Peak to my Makeup Bag for the month of November 2016 which is a mixture of Skincare and Makeup items I have.
1) HADA LABO Gokujyun Premium Hydrating Lotion
I was introduced to this product by a very close friend of mine. She had problematic skin many years back when I knew her in university. I met her recently after many, many years and I saw her skin was looking beautiful and radiant. She is an absolute beauty junkie and knows a lot about Asian Skincare products and she introduced me to this magic in a bottle. Now since I have naturally oily/combination skin, I never thought about using much about products containing Hyaluronic acid before. To my surprise, this product goes so well into my skin and penetrates deep and help to plump up my skin making it glow better. This product is also a very good base for makeup, underneath your foundation, and will literally make your foundation GLIDE LIKE A DREAM! I love, love, love this stuff. During November since I travelled to the UK, and it was quite cold out there, I literally used this product up so much. I even got my husband to use it and he loves it so much. The only problem is to get this product in hand, however, you can very well use services such as MyMallBox to get this product shipped from the US.
2) AROMA TREASURES Aloe Vera Gel
I have always loved using Aloe Vera Gel on my body and skin. It gives that extra hydration without making your face look oily. Now, I stumbled across a deal on Nykaa and grabbed this product after seeing the reviews to try it out and let me say, OH MY FREAKING GOSH... why didn't I know of its existence before!!!!! This product is literally MAGIC in a large pot!! I used this on my face twice a day, both morning and evening and it just makes my skin feel so hydrated and rejuvenated. Love this stuff and the price is such a stealer.. Could not have asked for something better!!
3) MAC Lipstick Palette in Plum
This palette has been my favourite lipstick palette from MAC from the past several years. I can create a variety of looks using just this palette and one my favourite ever nude lipsticks are plum nudes.. it is subtle, works well with golden undertone in my skintone and goes really well with any kind of eye look. I literally carried this palette when I travelled to the UK in November and it was perfect for on-the-go. The top 2 rows of shades - Twig, Captive, Verve and Amorous, are perfect to mix and match for day time and the bottom 2 shades - Hang up and Cyber and brilliant for a night out or for an edgy look.
4) KEVYN AUCOIN Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX11
If you have been reading my blog for a while, you would know for sure how much I love Kevyn Aucoin and his tips. His book 'Making Faces' was one of the first books I read when I was learning to do makeup on my own. So you may think I maybe biased to him.. Yes indeed I do adore him a lot but remember, my product reviews are never biased on my liking for an artist. It will always be the quality of the product and I should tell you, this stuff is truly sensational. I have never ever tried anything like it in my life. It is a small pot of pigment and I literally mean coverage!! You just need this tiny little pot and mix it with a foundation, bb cream, concealer, mix with a medium, moisturiser... literally ANYTHING!! I use this for hiding my dark circles at times and it does a brilliant job. It dries completely matte and you need to blend it out well and set it, else it will crease badly on you. Over the years I know to make this product work several ways and I love it so much when I travel.... and it LITERALLY does not finish, AT ALL!!
5) MUA LUXE Power Brow Gel in Dark Brown
I stumbled across this magic little thing while browsing through Superdrug Store at Oxford Street London and it was literally just £4 (roughly ₹330) and it caught my eye. Luckily, they had a Dark Brown shade and I tested it out and it looked perfect. Ever since, I could never put this baby down. It is the most perfect shade, easy to carry, blend in so well, had a brush with it, chic packaging... just overall, PERFECT! If you can grab it from somewhere, make sure you get this. It is AMAZING!!!!!
6) SLEEK Highlighting Palette in SOLISTICE
Ok, I am literally a Highlighting FREAK... and I am all about the GLOW!! Ever since I saw swatches of this amazing palette and people raving and raving and raving about it... I could not wait to grab a hold of this and my wonderful husband got it for me the last time he went to the UK (Guess it was in July) and it is the most beautiful 'light reflecting, glaring' highlighter to ever release in the drugstore, like ever, shabam!!! I do not use that cream highlighter on the top row-left much, but man, the bottom two rows... its just BOMB.com!! EPIC. PERIOD. I travelled with it throughout the month and I used it literally every single day!!! PRETTY!
7) GARNIER Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water
I stumbled across this product in Superdrug and again, it was kept on Sale and did not know at the time what to think of it... contemplated for a while if I should get it or not.. but then I just went ahead and bought it, especially when I read that it has oil in it. I only use oil based cleansers to get rid of my makeup so when this said Oil I thought, why not give it a go. I think I got this for like 2 or 3 quid so it was indeed a stealer price and need I say, this product gets rid of my makeup like a dream. You need to shake the bottle well before taking it in a cotton pad and wiping off your makeup. The only drawback, well the oil always settles on top almost immediately so you need to shake it everytime you need to take more product out.. but it is totally worth it. Love it a lot and for the price, it is really good!! It also smells incredible but mind you, it does contain Parfum / Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane etc so keep this in mind if you are sensitive to those ingredients. Personally, I would advise people with dry and sensitive skin to stay away from this product.
8) ISSEY MIYAKE L'eau D'Issey Summer Eau De Toilette
I love Issey Miyake Fragrances generally and this one that I have is a summer fragrance that I love, but somehow this year, I enjoyed using this during winters as well. It has got a very fresh marine-like scent with bits of fruity notes all over it. Generally, I tend to use more musky, woody scents during winters but this time, I just could not keep this baby down. It lasted on me really well and I enjoyed using it so much during my entire travel in the UK. It just made me feel alive and fresh everytime. :)
I hope you my lovelies enjoyed reading through my November Makeup Bag Favourites. Do not forget to let me know what your favourites were are well. I would love to read them!
Stay pretty and keep smiling my lovelies..
